Distribution of €1.3 million in aid among several agri-food companies in Aragón.

The Government of Aragón supports several agri-food companies with €1.3 million. The largest project is the support for a corn mill in Ariéstolas (Almunia de San Juan), in the province of Huesca. Pictured are the facilities of the company Quality Corn.

The total aid amounts to exactly €1,372,247. This funding comes from a call under the Rural Development Program for Aragón, which also receives contributions from the Ministry of Agriculture and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). The largest project is the corn mill located in Ariéstolas, within the Huesca municipality of Almunia de San Juan. The total investment of €5.6 million has been made by the company Quality Corn.

This company will receive aid of just over €1 million. Essentially, Quality Corn specializes in processing various varieties of corn suitable for human consumption, which ultimately serve as the base for products such as breakfast cereals, snacks, semolina, and baby food. Other companies receiving aid include FRUTAS PONS, based in Torrente de Cinca (Huesca), for the construction of a horticultural processing plant (€78,530); AGRÍCOLA SARRAU S.L., which has expanded its facilities (€45,030); and FRUTAS IBARZ CARCEDO S.L., which will receive €52,483 for setting up a processing center. The SOCIEDAD AGRARIA DE TRANSFORMACIÓN (SAT) EL PUEYO, from Tauste (Zaragoza), has been granted €43,320.

This company has carried out an expansion and implemented several environmental improvements related to its forage processing activities. SOCIEDAD CAMPO MONEGRINA, based in Bujaraloz (Zaragoza), will also receive financial support for improvements made to its cereal drying plant, amounting to €32,625.

Lastly, the company MONCAYO AGRÍCOLA will receive €32,625 to construct a warehouse in the town of Ainzón, Zaragoza. This company specializes in almond marketing.

According to the Government of Aragón (DGA), this line of aid aims to “enhance the competitiveness of the agricultural sector through restructuring measures, development of physical potential, and promotion of innovation, including increasing the added value of agricultural products.”
